    Round 3 with unusual flanges

I picked up two ek2 round threes, and noticed unusual details in the flanges. They are slightly ribbed on the corners, almost like the spine on a dagger would be. Have any of you guys noticed this? Hope it shows uo in the pics. First is the thick variation

      The ribbed corners

The corners are more pronounced on the thin cross, but still very slightly on the thick one.

Interesting. I have two "Round 3" EK 2s, and neither of them seem to have this feature.

I only have one and it does not have the beveled flange that FW shows on his. Mind you, I like his just the same.

              Beveled edges

I wish I could get a better closeup-all 16 corners are like this. It is nicely done, whoever did it. I wouldn't mind if more were like it.

Can you give us your specs regarding "regular thickness" and "thick version"? How thick are they?

I have the same one as on the first photograph, it seems that the 3 is
also different between the first photograph, and the second
                  best regards

Rim thickness at the corner : 1.7 mm

                        EK thickness

I get 4mm for the one, and 5.2mm for the thicker one. But, it seems that may be in part due to the beading on the larger one being a little further from the core.
