IMO an original L/18 in zinc, it all fits.

Which pebblings were you talking about, the ones on the year bar or the Swazis?
I'm more inclined to see more commonness regarding the year bar. There seems to be a slice on the border above the right side of the top of the "3". It could be just something hard or sharp that greased the border.
If only the owner of the piece could retake a head-on shpt with only natural lights, we could see more clearly what the real finish on the Spange would look like as it looked to be a different kind of grey colour.

I also have no problems with the L/18 spange. Clearly a later war flawed example, like many producers had some.Kind regards,
