    Whspange EK2

I was offered this spange (L/57 marked). It is finely detailed, but I intend to think it is not original...
    But I need your opinions...

        Hey George,

The one you posted appears to be an early piece. Early as in "after" the curved date box style. Correct?

          Just a humble observation.

          Cheers.

IMO this is a repro, very well done, but repro none the less
I've seen these with different markings also, and numerous finishes.
to look for is the excess metal under the numeral '1'
I even purchased one of these from the estand a few years back, before I/we knew better, and I lost the seller's info

I feel it's based on an original of the same(ish) design, which I surprisingly have one for sale at the moment on the estand!
              regards

It means that the shape of the spange is not so good. I tried to show that with my illustration.

                  Cheers.

I don't know how early it is, what with the LdO designation, but it does resemble the early type with the curved date box very much.

yes George, and we had an unmarked one shown here a few weeks ago, curved date box, same looking eagle, and interestingly the same prongs.

Yes, that was my Spange, and actually it is not unmarked, having an "800" silver designation on the back.

actually I was thinking about yet another one, which was unmarked
but your one here marked 800 is spectacular!
