    Is this possible ??

    Hello o'h mighty knowledgebase....

Is it possible for a General (WW2) to receive a WW2 spange (IC 1 and 2) if he never saw combat (nor was in command of troops in combat) during WW2 ??

    Let's here some opinions !

    Thanks

Yes, and higher. Keitel, Jodl etc all got theirs for Supreme HQ work. So did Dönitz for directing the Uboat war, etc etc.

Hermann Goring comes to mind as one who “collected medals” yet never saw combat in WW2.

There is no Spangen register like with the DKiG or RK.
His original docs or a photo would be the easiest.
            Which General is it?

The General is GenLt. Karl Hansen..... PLM winner from WW1.

He was only in from his recall in '38 till '42 and from what I can find in his record, he was assigned as the commanding general to the Troop training grounds at Beverloo...

              Cheers
