    EK I - schinkel form?

    Hi,
    here is a nice photo of Erich Baerenfaenger.

    I think he has a EK I schinkel form, is it right?

      moreover ist seems that his "KC" is not a kc at all! to me it looks like a ek2 worn as a kc!! what do you think?

        Yes now that I look at it, that RK has to be a EK!

            No, it was the normal ekII that was used
            I don't know why soldiers used this method because I think it looks weird, I would rather have a big medal around my neck than a small one

                they definately wore it to make sure that their "original kc" won't be damaged during the operations.

                as far as i can see, gen. ltnt. bärenfänger's "kc" is probably made by the hanauer plakettenhersteller "24" because it seems that the frame is a bit wider (45* 45mm).

                @ tyler:

                you're right, it looks quite strange when you compare bärenfänger with a soldier wearing a "real kc" around his neck but the fact that lots of soldiers wore ek2 as rk indicates that they realy respected their award!

                  you only have to change the loop.

                      could you possibly make the picture a little "BIGGER" next time...it took my old computer at work 30 minutes to download that life size portrait.....hehehe
