well i have read the stories about ebay, but i feel one of the best ways to learn is to study the fakes to. these are on ebay. any comments.

Hi Lynn,

The second one (eBay 751742992) looks OK for a cross by "100" - Rudolf Waechtler company of Mittweida. The 100 marking on the ring should be in incuse relief (raised numbers in a depressed box stamped into the ring), and from the eBay image it looks this way. See this thread for more info on 100 marked EKIIs.

I don't have any conclusive comments on the other two, sorry. The envelope for the third one looks nice, but I don't have a Deschler EKII and don't know how they marked their envelopes. Maybe someone else who owns one can comment.

After looking at the pics on ebay and the cross I'm holding in my hand I agree with Greg about the "100" Ek 2. And the price is def too high since these aren't all that rare.. About those other two, no comments im afraid.. Im still rather fresh in this field, but i have noticed that ebay is not what you would consider a credible source for militaria.
