Just out of curiousity, and I'm sure there's a good reason for it, why is a photo like this one "property of the Central Office of Trains (or transportation, I'm not real sure of the translation) of the German Travel Ministry?
Also, what sort of cross is it? Not being able to afford one, I haven't studied the KC's much.

            thanks!
            Hank

              Hello Hank

Thanks for some good questions. I guess that this picture ended up in som railway central office office due to the propagandaministry were controling the press in germany. The railways must have had some kind of magazine for employies so Goebles wanted them to know that a new order was being awarded.

About the type - I´m in the same situation as you S&L, K&Q or Juncker - can't se the difference but I was told this is a Juncker RK.

              Cheers Thomas

Are you 100% sure that's a period (circa 1940's) photograph?

Notice the edging of the ribbon. A few weeks/months ago that ribbon would be discounted as post-war.

Rich, that's as good a ribbon as you can get!! It's just B&W and w/ the shadows it looks a bit off.

More significantly however....this Cross was alleged to be a ROUNDER

                        It clearly is a Juncker.
                        Regards,
                        Dave

Can someone post the Signal article/photo ?

                          Cheers.

                              here you go,

the angle of the OL is a bit different, so the set might have been moven when the second picture was taken, but the ribbon says it all...
