My new EK1

Hi everyone,
Yesterday I received a new EK1 to add in my collection. It has no maker mark, but I was told it******180;s a Souval. It comes with a Paul Maybauer case.

I see two things I would like to talk about. First, is the paint in the swaz at 3 o******180;clock, between the arms.
The second, is the lack of details in the right top corner arm (detail Pic).

The cross, in my opinion looks fine and bears the hallmarks of a Rudolph Souval rim. However, it is believed that Souval produced and sold the front rims, backplates, pins and hinges to other companies who then added their own cores. This one looks like it may be one of those crosses as the pin doesn't look like a standard Souval one to me. The paint in the arm of the swastika looks like a bit of paint overrun, either a minor error when it was produced or it has been repainted at some stage. The point on the rim beading that doesn't quite match the other outer corners could simply be some artifact of production which meant that part of the beading / rim didn't get pressed out as well as it should have done.

Personally I don't see anything here that alarms me - but that's only my opinion, and hopefully some of the (considerably) more experienced collectors on here will add their comments.

The frame looks like a Souval but the core doesn't.The paint looks odd,the Swastika looks very skinny,and the bottom of the 3 should be lower than the other numbers...Look at this one http://WWW.Wehrmacht-awards.com/iron...8/3/l_58_3.htm
