KEEP AND CONTINUE TO USE THE SAME NUMBER AFTER THE WAR? IF THEY HAD
AN LDO OF L/22 AND A MANUFACTURER'S NUMBER OF 98, THEN WHY L/58?

To start dont use Capitals!!, an old rule. Souval have the nr´s LDO L/58 and PKZ 98, that L/22 is a missprint. And yes he did use L/58 for the after war stuff.

Where is he getting "L/22"?

It was a controversy that started a few years back with the entries in "The Iron Time" by Previtera. On page 450 he has a listing of LDO numbers that show L/22 as Rudolf Souval.

This has been rectified as a mistake. One of many in his line of books

the L/22 number appears on many lists I've come across, most recently from
Der Freiwillige website with a link to LDO manufacturer numbers. That is where my confusion and question stems from. By the way, sorry for any offense with the all caps--just be sure not to use two ss's in "misprint"--

On all the LDO lists that I have seen and use, L/22 is attributed to Glaser & Sohn, Dresden, L/58 Rudolph Souval, Wien, (Vienna), and 98 is also Souval.

I hope this is of use.
