    Maker ID from hinge/pin/catch?

    Hi,

I'm trying to ID a possibly maker for this cross based on the hinge/pin/catch. The reverse hardware is similar to Deschler, Mayer and a less common Rettenmaier EK1 variant however the catch is different from the ones I've seen.

Does anybody have an exact reverse hardware match? Any help appreciated.

Trust me when I say that the obverse will be of no help.

    Regards

    Can't we see it anyway?

The pin and hinge do remind me of Deschler. The catch does not seem to match what I would expect from Deschler, though.

            Hi,

I take it from the question marks that no-one has an exact match? I'm not testing anyone - there is no hidden maker mark!

It was worth a try though. To me, the hinge/pin looks TR in construction but maybe this is a slightly earlier ('30s?) precursor to one of the main candidates mentioned above.

I'm attaching a better shot of the hinge. You'll see the hinge itself is of a "folded" type, not a solid block. The central "J" segment is also a separate folded over piece - the main pin is attached to this "J" segment. The main pin does not wrap around the hinge pin.

I'll hang off posting the obverse for now.

            Regards
