Here's a photo purportedly showing a "dip ring" RK in wear during the war.

The dipped eye and the 1939 numeral font looks like some 1957 era KCs.

The numeral fonts are different front and back.

The paint texture is not consistant front and back.

The swastika is straight sided without the slight draft needed for the core to drop free from a die after striking.

IMO this KC looks to be made up from a '57 example with the swastika added to the surface of a reworked '57 core.

I know that there are pictures of dipped ring KCs in wartime portraits but I don't think this is one of them.

For what it's worth, if genuine, the case and the ribbon would be worth the asking price.

The fonts on the front and back are distinctly different. Do all genuine RK's have the same font style on both sides? I don't know if it is the paint texture that is different from the front and back or if the core has suffered some type of rust damage on the front and been repainted. It seems to have an odd stippled pattern that is absent on the reverse. As Tiger mentioned, if the case, ribbon and loop are genuine, they are more than worth the price being asked.

            case and ribbon

            Hello all,

Are the case and ribbon 100% legit? Please let me know either way. Thank you.

You know that dipping donught looks like it has very 'rounder' corners. Who was the general in the photograph and as I dont know, the photo is from the wartime?
              Regards
