    Hello, Andy. Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Yours pictured is very similar to mine, indeed. Slightly less graying on the back and somewhat uneven graying on the front of mine. Sorry I cannot post pictures right now.

    Now see pictures of mine below...just like yours, Andy.
    Thanks, John

      Do all good KVK's have to have this mounting block under the pin hardware? Or are there good ones out there without it? I have a KVK 1st class with swords that does not have these blocks, although the pin swivel assembly doesn't resemble the Floch examples either. It's maker marked 4. I know pictures would help but I don't have a digital camera.

          @Darrel
          No because I had a marked 4 KVK 1kl .
          And there was no mounting block on it .
          Regards

            No not all "good" ones have this.

            Yes. Just like the "4" you mention.

              Here now are pictures of the KVK referenced in my posting #27 above. From what I understand based upon feedback and research to date, this piece is OK.

                      And now here is another 1st class "L15" without swords which I acquired cased from an estate sale. I feel quite certain that it is OK, based upon comparisons with George Stimson's in #17 & #18 and Laurence Strong's in #23 & #24 above. It has heavy silvering, is highly-burnished, has an oval baseplate under the hinge and maker mark incused in relief on the pin, with a faint reverse image mm on the back of the pin...all correct, I believe. Can you confirm or otherwise comment, please? Thanks. John
