L16 Spanish Cross W/ Swords Cased

Here is what I consider an unusual Spanish Cross in Silver with Swords. It is exactly as I bought it from the US veteran: Cased, missing pin, has been worn and is marked 800 at the top and L/16 by the catch. Has anyone else seen one marked in this manner?

    Hi Ron,
I would have thought that one to be bad. I haven't seen one like it. Maybe Jacques has seen one like this?

the cross itself is a nice original.

Yes, its real silver and the detail, though worn, is very nice. I had heard of the L numbered crosses before, but have seen so few it is hard to know what you would expect. I guess so few were made and utilized that they are rather uncommon.

          Dear Mr. Ron
I just read your description carefully, and I have a piece that I do not know if it is the same one you describe, or maybe another similar one ....
I would like your opinion very much.
          Best regards
