I also bought a book "Detecting the fakes" by Robin Lumsden
Any opinion about this book?

I've got that book too.It's not bad,there's some useful information in it but it's a bit dated.The books i tend to use the most (until i can get some advice on better publications) is "A collectors guide to world war 2 german medals and political awards" by Christopher Ailsby and "A collectors guide to third reich militaria" also by Robin Lumsden.

Thanks, There is 2 books "A collectors guide o world war 2 german medals and political awards" the first from 1994 and the second from 2002.
Is it the first one you suggest?

The cross looks genuine and original. . As for books, I can recommend Vern Bowens ' The Prussian and German Iron Cross'. This is, in my opinion, one of the better books about, bearing in mind that it only deals with iron crosses, (from 1813 to 1939 snd the 1957 re-issues). You can still get copies of it from Vern Bowen. If you are interested send me a PM and I'll let you have his granddaughters e-mail address as she deals with the books for him.
