I picked this up on e-stand from a very reputable dealer. If there is something wrong with it, please point out the specifics, so i can get my money back. Thanks.

            Hi Ken,

This is only my opinion but I go along with Jon on this one. I don't believe the resoldered sprongs are contemporary. On most EK2 spanges that I've seen, the lower feather rows next to the swastika has been jagged, when wiewing from the reverse. Mayer produced pieces with a straight row, but this one is not consistant with his product.

I'm sorry, my post was quite uninformative and off hand!

the pics make it look a bit soft, and golden (on my screen) which instantly made me think: cast, copy etc. but could be an unmarked '55', as most features look right for that maker
The pins are obviously replaced, but IMHO don't look period...
in a quick glance all looked wrong to me, I'd like to have it in my hand to be sure. Maybe I'm getting to fussy, suspicious and paranoid, but I've seen some awfully good copies (of known makers) of late, and best to be guilty untill proven innocent
              any more opinions out there?
              regards
              jon

55 is another with a reverse 'straight row'...

ok guys the member I bought this from has contacted me, so a refund will not be a problem, He's a good guy and stands up for his pieces, but I want to know is this a good spange with replaced prongs of a good fake
                    so is it good?
                    all the best

                      Hello,

I see no problem with the authenticity of the Spange.
It is a Hammer (55) one but the prongs are replaced almast in the the same manner as the originals.

Ken, this second example you show is one IMO 100% without a doubt good,
you have yours in your hand... how does it compare? pebbling etc? can you see where original prongs may have been?
                            regards
