Who is this Iron Cross dealer???

Does anyone know Andrew D. Biggers?
I tripped on his website about a year ago.
    http://www.magma.ca/~magnus/sales/main2.html#1939
A few months back I sent him an email which was not acknowledged.
I'm curious if anyone knows him or has had any dealings with him.
    Thanks much!

I never heard of him either. The top of the page says "I have included photos of most of the awards being offered -- click on the "thumbnail" image on the right to get a larger picture" - except there is no thumbnails!!! Weird...
I e-mailed him too, let's see if he gets back.

I believe he was an 'expert ' in the Iron Cross field. However I believe he is no longer active. I also emailed him at the beginning if the year.......... No reply!!!

I think there was some discussion about him on the Imperial forum re 1813 EK's.

Andrew Biggers was the webmaster of the well known site "the historic iron cross", it was
one of my favortie websites, however for some reason it seemed to have been abandoned
as most of the pages didn't work. Now it seems to be totaly kaput.

            Hello Neil,
I think you're correct about Mr. Biggers being prominent in the field. I found another reference to him on this site, wherein he published an article on recent fakes...

I also suspect your "inactive" description is also correct.....if I'm not mistaken, the offerings on his sales site have not changed in the past year.
Makes one wonder why the site is still up and running.

              Biggers

Yes.. Andy ran the Historic Iron Cross site, which along with Gordon's original site were really the two specialist sites available up until a couple of years ago (and the advent of this forum and others)
Andy is a teacher and this represents his collecting interests rather than a commercial concern.

"The Historic Iron Cross" was one of the very first on-line collecting resources circa 95-96-97. It was ground breaking in it's day, and very helpful. In fact, I would say it was responsible for a noticeable surge in popularity of the EK during the early days of online collecting. A shame it is no longer active.
