Ritterkreuz General's Totenkopf Solid Silver Tray for $85 !!

    The story is all here.

    http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3310&hl=

When I bid on this, I had no idea who the original owner was. Glenn came to the rescue.

Hellermann was quite famous, winning his RK at Stalingrad!

You can still pick up a bargain on eBay!

If it was done Post War ..the seller would have mentioned the Generals name as the one who supposedly owned it ..that way he could drive the bidding higher ......and make a lot more than $85.
This was a home run pure and simple.
shot in the dark huh? ...what type of Night Scope were you using Robin ? ---Mike Peters

Here's a close-up of the engraving - to allay the doubters.

Remember - the skull's only an inch across. The work of a craftsman in silver engraving.

Here's the original owner, Vollrath von Hellermann. He won his RK at Stalingrad.

So eBay does come up with good stuff now and again!

Have you seen an optician lately?

                        Honestly, I despair at times.

I suppose this one's Latvian as well, is it?

It has a skull as well, so it must be fake, right?
