Lovely Cross!! And as offered is AWFULLY expensive but, as I predicted these will soon hit the $10k mark. As long as collectors are willing to cough it up these will continue to be THE premier item for WWII German collectors! Mike I'm unsure whether you have commited to the cross as yet at $9k+ but remember back to the 70's when we were pi**ing and moaning at the $1k these demanded. Keep in mind too that these prices occur only in the US and the Europeans are a little bit 'realistic' as far as the 'value' of these go! I don't envy your decision...

Prices?

I have to diagree JohnJ... in Europe the prices are matching those in the US. Kai Winkler has two L/12's on his site at 11,500 Euros, the dollar/euro rate is around unity - so read dollars).
Detlev manages to keep his prices very reasonable, but his competitors still are able to move their stock at much higher prices.
