Gentlemen the internet is a wonderful place to distribute information....it also seems to be a wonderful place to blacken peoples reputation with little thought to the consequences.Am I correct in reading the first post that this robbery took place nearly 10 years ago?I cannot imagine a dealer of ******reputation buying a large collection of the type listed from two hoods who wandered in off the street to his shop to sell them.Indeed it may be through this dealers information that the criminals were arrested.I note the "Doctor" did not have his name mentioned which seems odd to me especially if he was the alleged mastermind behind the robbery.One day an internet forum like this one,and I presume those who run it ,are going to get hit with a massive libel suit that will be very expensive.By all means publish this information but let the courts determine those who are guilty and until this is done do not blacken peoples names and reputations on heresay or half baked details as per this first post.

It doesnt matter anyway, because it aint the point. What matter is that a serious crime event took place and the former owner (collector) of those many rare docs / medals is beaten up, robbed, scared to death en lost his beautiful collection to some noobs....

Correct Martin.No names were mentioned in your post but they were in double quick time in a later post followed by an inane comment about the dealer "whoever he might be".As if everybody reading this post on this forum would not know who was being referred to! Believe me I would happily join you in the firing squad to send these crooks to glory...can you please confirm if we are talking about an event in 1996? I am sure Topp's son sent details of items stolen from Mr Topp by a person unknown to this forum.

The robber or robbers were obviously working for someone, a person who wants these items very badly but can't obtain them though normal channels, even if they have the money.

As far as I know this is a list on the internet of items stolen over numerous years from different Ritterkreuztr******228;ger and/or their families and not one person's collection!!!

I did hear about a shooting incident some years ago and items stolen and again I heard that this was a RKT that was shot and not a collector........the case is ongoing I believe!?!?!

Maybe it isnt the right place for posting it but i came across an article about stolen KC documents (robbery) from the german owner P. who also had the medals (KC with oaks /swords) of Generalfieldmarschal Walther Model. Hereby the list of some items, for those who are interested or for those who have seen them. Only the Topp collection wasnt included. Some docs are found back at one person and at a famous dealer and investigation is going on.

In german was the following text:
Am 12. Januar 1996 drangen zwei Gangster ins Haus des Sammlers P. in Geldern am Niederrhein ein, misshandelten ihn und seine Frau. Es fielen Schüsse. Die Täter raubten die einmalige Sammlung des Opfers in Millionenwert. Darunter waren auch Orden und Urkunden der Nazi-Größe Generalfeldmarschall Walter Model (1891-1945). Einzige Spur nach der Tat: Die Verbrecher sprachen breites Hamburgisch.

The value of this collection was about 1,7 Million EURO

Interesting article I also read a similar story of a collector in the USA that also lost all his items including RK, SS daggers and Lugers.... value around $100.000 ...
Mine is a poor collectors collection protected by a loaded Mauser 98k so I been waiting for these fellows to visit!!lol!!

This 1.7Million Euro list contains the Erich Topp's KC formal document and the diamond dagger( see the bottome of the list). That robbery happened in 96 in Mr. Petrat's home.
But if you check the thread" Erich Topp's RK" under comment #2, Topp's son mentions his father's KC document and diamond dagger were stolen during a house visit in 8/99.
How come?
