Dont think i was right about the pin "filed down", the top off the pin at the hinge dont match a maker 1 like my EK. Sorry but it´s kinad bad light here this time off the year. Then Richard can be right that it´s replaced, and i will go on that also. But still IMO it´s made by maker nr 1, L/10 "beside the pin".

Could this revelation give some light as to who manufactured these round 3's? Sorry if I am making a dumb statment / question

There have been a few round '3' EK1's posted in the past. It wouldn't be difficult to find a few examples and compare them to this one and to Deschler marked EK1's to see if the frames match.

Just a thought that would help in this discussion.

OK, I dug out the pics of my Round 3 EK1 and a few more I have on file including one belonging to 'Roman'... and by some distance, this is the type of frame and pin that I would consider 'typical'....

(note the messed up beading on the 6 O'clock arm is quite distinctive...)

But interestingly, the one pictured in Detlev Niemanns book appears more of a match for the frame of yours.... particularly at the 6 O'clock spot, and the inner corners of the beading...

The pin - could be any number of explanations, but IMO, does not constitute anything more than 'non-typical'.

Deschler I think has been offered as a possible maker of these on more than one occaision, so I am looking forward to seeing a comparison of the two frames.... but you GOTTA get better pics - in focus and straight on, or not much more can be done...

                      regards
