    Knights Cross question

    Hi Everyone,
I am posting pictures of this KC to get opinions on it. I am trying to get a feel for what to look for. I am not interested in this one, but I did find it while searching for other items.
My opinion is that it is a repro, I have no expertise, just a "feeling". The points that I did not like is the "ribbing" - the gaps seemed too wide. I also did not like the "8" in the 800 stamp.
Like I said, I am just trying to get an education on these, and see if my "gut" feeling was right.
I would appreciate any and all opinions. Thanks in advance.

and last the close up of the 800 stamp.

One neat thing is that I learned how to downsize photos after this.

      Thanks again Everyone

Thanks Ludwig for the quick reply. Just curious tho, were my points valid on it being fake. I know there are probably alot of other points, I just would like to know if I was right on mine.

              Hi Andy,
              That's the infamous Latvian fake.
I would strongly recommend that you invest in Gordon Williamson's Book, The Iron Cross of 1939.

Peter, your right, I will usually check the fakes section rather than asking a dumb question.
I saw one on there with similar 800 stamps, but most of the fakes seem to have maker marks. I am just trying to get a quick feel to see if my gut reaction is correct. In case I ever see one for sale and don't have the time to check WAF.
                Thanks,
                Andy

Hi Roy, I have heard of that Latvian fake before, so this will shed some light on it for me. I mainly collect badge (and mini's) and would like to one day get Gordons book (one thing at a time ).
                  I appreciate your input.

never buy a KC on 'gut reaction'!
of course unless it's under $30...
