A similar discussion on another forum eludes to "put-together" pieces ... although NO-ONE can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt one way or the other ... I'd be inclined to think the Clasp is not original to the ribbon which are in turn not original to the box. However, all three are probably period pieces.

                  Not original set?

                  Hello:

The spange on the ribon I bought them separatedly of the box.

The spange was examined by persons experts that thought that it original was; I bought the box later and I do not have expert opinions about his originality.

What makes think to him that they are not original pieces?

Thanks very much and excuse my english.

                    Hello,

                    I agree with Darrell.
If I compare the condition of the ribbon with the box so I see a great difference regarding the condition.
The ribbon and the eagle has singns of have been worn very often AND the box.....?
The box has for me the appearance of a new one but definitely that they do not belong together for 70 years.

                      Roberto,

I didn't say they were NOT original. In fact, based on these pictures, they look fine

What I said was I was suspicious that the items were all from the same source. You have confirmed that by saying the box was bought later.
