    Souval RK?

    Hello All,

Just got back from the local militaria show. Picked up a few treasures and this llittle fellow. It was sold to me as a repro for a repro price (Still short the $10,000 needed to get the real McKoy! ) So I bought this one for now. After looking up some souval pictures I got to thinking that it may be a souval?!? Any opinions?

It's a Souval, and a nice one. You can tell from the trade mark dipping 3 in the 1939. Ive taken the liberty of brightening the pic so you can see the dip.
No recent repro's beat the Souval, they're the next best thing to the real McCoy. How much did you pay for it?

Thanks John, that is the best news I have gotten to date! I paid the equivalent of $120 USD for her. It was actually $150 CDN at the show. What do these usually fetch, I am not selling but it is good to list in the medal software for insurance purposes.

Thanks John! It looked like one to me but now I am just

            Shane,
How much are they worth? Hard to answer except how much somebody is willing to pay.

However, I got mine from a forum member which was uncased but came with a set of oak leaves for ******163;40 , that’s $71. Not as good condition as yours but still a nice piece.

Get yourself a '57 or good repro case and you have one hell of a display piece!

                Thanks John,

I am still very pleased. Thank you for the references, it's nice to see the similarities between these and the others.

                All the best,

Just to stir the pot - remember the days when buying a Souval copy was a shame? Remember when 57' pieces were trinkets??? Oh well...Very nice Souval and nice frosting to boot!
