Not the same cross but the same clamshell back as this one...

I am sorry but it looks like it could be a reproduction from Floch.

            Cheers.

              I don't like it.

IMO the swas is too small and assymetric (Note 3 and 9 o'clock positions). The screwback setup looks as brand new. The wreath looks assymetric as well and it did not show proper detail. Also the finish looks strange (but it is maybe due to the artificial lighting?).
The crossguards look weird as well (IMO they are too big!) and the way the crossguards are connected to the cross leaves no other choice as to qualify this decoration as a reproduction.

This one is not for my collection

Tomasz, I can not say if it is a fake or not, but I can not agree with your arguments.

The Swas: Compare it with the KVK without swords in Detlevs Book, page 532.

The Wreath: I compared it with four KVK's 2nd. class and it has much more details.

Finish: For me it looks like several ones I saw before, but I might be wrong too.

I forgot to say that the cross is vaulted.
Here comes a scan, maybe it helps.

                Best wishes

I will keep up my opinion - it is a repro.

PS. Can You post the SCAN image of the reverse?

About the Swas and the Wreath there are 3 possibilities:

                        - You did not take a look in Detlevs book and compare with the crosses he shows.

                        - Detlevs Cross is a fake too

                        or:

                        - I do not see what you mean and understand it wrong.

Easy, I am not saying I am 100% right - I am presenting only my opinion after analysing the first set of pictures. Still, I would like to see the reverse (the scan of it).

After seeing the scan picture of the cross - the subject begins to be debatable. I wonder what Peter Viking would say seing the scan picture as well

This is a EK1 reproduction from Floch. Compare the screw disk with the one on your KVK.

                              Cheers.
