--Oddly enough, there are even the same pattern scratchmarks on the reverse. What's the deal with THAT?

                  Looks Good To Me

                  Hagar,

The piece looks okay to me and you can compare your spange to mine pictured below, which closely resembles Bill's spange.

The "scratches" are actually raised lines and IMO, original die characteristics as are the two noticable die flaws in the numerals "9" on the front.

                    Reverse

                    Notice the same lines.

In a sea of fake spange’s this one looks good, Peter probably around the $200 Aussie mark for one of these in pretty good condition.

                          Hi,

I'm with the other's, I think the L/11 Spange Peter has imaged is genuine. Dez, where did you get that price of Aus$200 from? If you have any genuine and unrepaired EK1 Spanges to sell for that price, I'm buying!! More like US/Euro $150-200 imo.

                          Regards
                          Mike K

                          Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

Mike I snagged a L/11 EK spange from an antique shop down here, it was sitting next to some party tinnies, maybe I just got lucky. Sorry you can't have it, I have been looking too long for a genuine piece.
