I'm completely happy with the cross, the case does have signs of wear and age on the outside which don't show in the picture too well, the interior is very clean with little or no staining.

Be glad to hear views on this.

              Hello Glenn

Case looks fine to me with honest wear.

                  Hello Glenn,

That is a nice and original case you have there +> are there any numbers written down in Pencil or inprinted in the cardboard ?

                  Cordial Greetings,

                    Stijn,
the cardboard base has "621KB" on the underside, raised not in pencil. There is a pencil mark on inside of the base but I cannot make anything out of it.

                    Cheers, Glenn.

PS. Very pleased with the Spange thanks.

                      Codes in cases

                      Hello Glenn,

I always like that my friends are happy

Regarding the raised KB 621 in your case => in the past we have been discussing these codes ( altough we could not find what the DB means ) there is what I believe some sort off a system used in these numbering => therefore I searched it once again for you and this was what we had found on period original cases :

                      621 KB : EK 1 , KVK 1 , Ostvolk awards 1 e class

                      622 KB : Spange EK 1

626 KB : LW Observers case + Pilots badge

629 KB : Wound badges ( encountered Silver and Gold )

630 KB : LW Airgunners badge

637 KB : German cross Gold

                      Cordial Greetings,

                        Great information Stijn!
My pilot's badge case is marked 626 KB but until now I had no idea of it's significance. Thanks for taking the trouble to research and post this information!
                        Best regards,
                        Roy

                          Stijn, thanks again my friend.
I had no idea of the codes meaning, I have seen such codes before but never any reference to them.
                          Most intersting thanks.

I just checked my EKI case which is marked Wilhelm Deumer KG Ludensheid.
Sure enough......the cardboard base has "621. KB." raised on the underside in two places. The 626 KB numbers in my Pilot's badge case also appear twice.
                            Cheers,
                            Roy

Does anyone have a Knight's Cross case with numbers in them?
