Here's a photo.....

.....that I lifted from herr Niemann's site. It isn't extemely clear or bright enough, but I think you can see that as a curved inner frame such as the one posted it also shows a 'skewed date,' though the pin/hinge/clasp is different.

Just my observation on this.
