Unusual Iron Cross 1st Class

I just received this Iron Cross which appears to have a copper-plated magnetic iron center, a silver-finished brass mounting pin, and an LDO (?) marking. Does anyone know anything about this particular variety? Thanks.

The marking is L/11, which is correct for this cross.
Early Deumers had a copper plating, most of these have a straight, tapering pin and are unmarked.
