Cased War Merits Cross marked 1 for Deschler. My questions are the case original or reproduction? The WMC a late war zinc and is the "1" correct for the Deschler? Many thanks!

I take it when nobody comments on a topic that it is most likely original? So the case is original and the WMC marked 1 for Deschler is a good original also?

Hinge is not typical for Deschler. Not to mention the needle.

Looks to be a zinc S&L in poor condition with a bogus PKZ# added. Considering its condition it would be a safe bet to say the cross and case are mismatched. Perhaps post the case for review in the cases and packets sub forum?
