    Awards Question for Transitional Tunic

    Gentlemen,

I was just advised to post this question here. I have a transitional tunic with the rank of Oberst of Infantry. There are several loops for various awards on both breast pockets. The tunic, in all aspects is original. Not a stitch glows in the blacklight, the collar and shoulderboards appear correct, the breast eagle is right as are the cuffs, etc...

    The discussion - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=115422

What awards/combination of awards would justify these loops/loops placement?

In the first picture I posted, the tunic bears a William Deumer (L/11) EK1 and a GAB badge (I do not have an IAB yet). The GAB is a little loose, so, possibly, are for the wound badge. The second pic shows the left breast pocket with no awards. This should test some knowledge and any discussion would be appreciated!

      Hi Mark,

Guys, I've been talking with Mark about this one for a while now. The interesting part of the left breast pocket are both the two loops and (what appears to be) a hole for (possibly) a screwback award (EK or KVK)?

The WW2 EK2 ribbon came with the uniform. So assuming that it is period, it rules out a EK1 screwback / spange combo, since he would never had won the EK1 for WW1.

The loops and the hole on the left breast pocket are pretty close together for two items to be worn at the same time. See the first picture with just the EK1 pinback. It covers the hole. I threw out a wild guess that "possibly" he had a pinback AND screwback that he may have worn on different occasions?

Interesting. I would also assume that a DK would have hung on the right breast pocket based on how far apart the loops are ....
