    Comments on the EK1

This one has received many mixed reviews. If it's a repro, it's one of the nicest ones I've seen in a long time. (The case is a new one). Anyone have any info on it's origins? Thanks.

Look at the beading on the top half of the 3 o'clock arm. Notice how straight it is. That's a pretty good giveaway that something's probably not right....

                I kinda like that opinion.

I do not like this. I wouldn;t have this in my collection
resembles too closely this repro (right) never seen inner corners like this on an original...
                  regards

                    Hello,

I don´t like this cross and would´nt like to have it in my collection. I think it´s a better one from latvia. These things were usually sold in germany by the afrikaheld and similar fakers.

                    regards

Hello guys. Hello Doug. I am surpriced that you can not spot this one Doug? It is a known reproduction. Often marked L/54 in an arc on the needle.
Below is a reproduction marked L/54, using the same hardware as yours. Note the inner corners and the pattern of the ribbing there. Note as well the flaws on the beading.

                      Cheers.

Thanks for the info. I freely admit I know almost nothing about 1939 EK's and have only 2 representative '39 EK1'sd and 2 '39 EK2's in my collection. I focus on Imperial EK's only and have no interest at all in TR crosses or the Third "Reich" itself. This particular one was a gift from a well meaning friend who quit collecting.
