    Just a personal note.
I have sold many, many things to Bill Shea over the last 5-6 years.
If you have junk, he does not pay much... but if you have good stuff, which I have always tried to offer him, them he pays very, very well.

In fact, as I said not so long ago, I have had things on the estand that people obviously thought to pricey. Bill bought them at that price, and marked them up...... why? because he wants a web site with good items, not one ofthose web sites were 80% of the things have a "sold " sign just to fill up the pages.

This stuff does not come cheap... that means dealers cant buy it cheap either.

I always say, a buyer has no right to complain about a seelers prices, and a seller has no right to complain if the buyer goes elsewhere.

If I were to wait 6 months to sell my DDSS36 for $X000, or I wanted a fast sale and sold it 20% off, its noones business but the guy buying.

I apologize to any who found my previous post to be in bad taste or without tact. Perhaps in my search for the reality of why US dealers charge so much, I found the wrong truth. It certainly wasn’t meant to reflect negative on Mr. Shea in any way.

          Reality!

Sorry Gents, but I cant see the point here of all this.

Dealers are not providing a public service, they are in business and will charge whatever the market (their market) will support.

Both of Bill and Detlev have supported my collecting goals for many years, and I have to say that anonymously voicing opinions of one dealers merits over another that we have witnessed here is quite distastfull...

            I agree with Chris 100%.
I haven't had much business with Bill but what I have had has been 100% positive. Detlev I have had more business with, also 100% positive.
Both are widely recognised as being first class so lets leave it at that.
This thread has served its purpose, so lets move on.

Detlev Niemann and Bill Shea are two of the finest gentlemen in this business. Professional and honest.

Wolfe & Hardin have some of the best 3rd Reich items in the world. Always a pleasure to see.

David Cook died this year unexpectedly at around 60 years of age. He was from Dallas and was well known throughout this hobby. His main interest was headgear mostly helmets. His collection however contained everything 3rd Reich. Stay tuned to The Ruptured Duck for a treat of hard to find items in excellent condition that was David’s collection. He roamed all shows in the southwest and was always ready to show & tell his latest find. He was a bachelor and his house was like a museum. The last ten years he promoted his own gun shows in the Dallas area. He will be sorely missed.

                Lazy 2

There's nothing like digging up a good ten year old thread -- and comparing the costs of RK versus nowadays. Seems like they've appreciated as well as property in Atlanta: )

How fast were you to order your RK? I mean how soon after the update did you get into Detlev's site and place your order?

Oh, by the way, did anyone see the cased Junker Lazy 2 Bill Shea had on his site recently? Nine grand and it's gone! I attached a picture of it.
