Possibly an EK2 ribbon as well?
The ribbon looks 'small' even when threaded through the unique loop.
Very hard to speculate from that image I would imagine.

John, I suspect that this photo was enhanced by the addition of the Knight's Cross.
The boards and youthful appearing
face suggests a much earlier time.
Ever cautious...........war time or post war photo?
