    EK2 in RK size

    Hallo Gents,

as first and foremost I want to show what can be happen with crosses if you nurse and indulge them very well. You can see the result below. They grow up very well.

That was the funny part. Now to the serious part.
I have compared my both EK2 RK size and have noticed that all both have the same features regarding rim, date and swastika.
I long to know whether other EK2 in RK size have the same features or not.
The reason is I wonder whether the crosses has been made by different manufacturers or they came all from one and the same.

    All comments appreciated.

        full size of the Babies:
All both have the dimension of: H: 46,6mm; B: 46,8mm

Do not bemused from the diffrent colour. One is lubricated with grease.

Where are the owners of the other EK2 RK size?

The one I have is identical to yours in every way. I think these crosses must all have come from the same maker. Mine has no maker mark.

Gordon Williamson indicates he has examined several examples that differed slightly in weight and dimension from each other - which he suggests indicates possible multiple manufacturers....but there is no mention from him of whether the core details were all identical. I'm assuming they were - I've certainly never seen core differences in any of the Ubergrosse posted here over the years.

I know Bob Hritz has at least 5 examples.... maybe he can confirm whether the weights, dims and cores are identical?

Another characteristic I've noticed in the Ubergrosse I've studied, is best indicated on the left hand rim of the 6 O'clock arm. You'll notice the rim width flares out dramatically as it progresses from centre to bottom.

The Ubergrosse is not a particularly well made piece, and if it was indeed the prototype to the RK, it's really no wonder it was sacked!!

Mine exhibits the common heavy handed filing to the beading around the swaz, as does your 'lubed up' example. Ubergrosse hand-finishing... is there ANY variation?

              regards
