    hello

    Hello,

Welcome to the forum. I would suggest reading Panzer-Grenadiere - der Panzerdivision "Wiking" im BILD by Fritz Hahl and preface by Franz Hack.

This has some references to Korsun.

I can tell you that these Officers were close to there at the time, if not directly involved with the pocket:

    Silberleitner
    Oskar Puusepp
    Olschany
    Ruut or Ruus

These are both Estonians and Germans.

    Hope this helps.

Could you help me to find holder of this Knight Cross ?
I think the holder was from 5 Reg.SS "Wiking" and was killed or was taken in captivity in Jan.- Feb. 1944.

          Thanks.

I am not sure, but I think the Swaz looks reeally thin.
And there seems to be a "huge" gab between the rim and the swaz. Looks a little odd, so I would give it a

                But wait for the experts.

                  other section

                  Hello all,

What do you say we put it in the "crosses" section

Evaluate the item, not the story.

Maybe someone planted the cross, and watered it in the hope of getting an RK tree!

I'm with you Harry....Looks like the typical Latvian fake we have seen in the last couple of years!

It's especially humorous that Roman is from Riga, Latvia
