I don't like the case... Mine is different (it has another 'lock' ) Could it be that the case is a repro?

A view of my case...look at the 'lock'...

PS. Darrell, I know I am playing with Your feelings...)

Best thing to do would be to bid on it, then retract your bid and explain about it's authenticity.
The 57's were marked with '800'. Here is mine...

Guys, this is a very nice correct mid 1970s cross. The guy selling as called it early once in the listing. The big debate that is going on for some reason is early or mid and price, well 30+ years old is quite early when you see the modern rubbish out there, it's well pictured so there is not attempt to decieve. By the way Detlev sold one like this a few months back for £150 plus post so anything below this price is a bargain. I don't have a problem with this seller. I've had stuff from him before, and as to the prices if people are willing to pay it then it's fair game in my book. I haven't sold anything on ebay for a long while but I've happily made up to 100% profit on stuff. I don't see that as being wrong. It's different on the estand I wouldn't look to make money from my peers but ebay's a different beast altogether.

At the end of the day this cross is being sold as an early cross which it is not it is a mid production cross period . The seller knows this but still calls it an early cross in the heading and listing to make more money .

              2 different crosses 2 different prices .

My guess is that it will go for between 175 and 200 British pounds.
