    Grosskreuz at Norheideversand

    Hello,
today browsing at Norheideversand I came across a Grosskreuz 1939, my german is not that good, so I couldn't figure what the description said, if real, wouldn't this price be extremely low??? And since there is not much info on Grosskreuze, how do you distinguish a good one from a bad one?

I would also like to ask, what are the differences between a Oakleaves & Swords case to the one in this page that says it is also Diamonds?

    Any help appreciated.

    Hello Fernando,
I only can say to stay away of such exotic items!
Even for the specialists it's very hard to proof these are real or fake.
I would never like a item I wasn't sure of.
I think this is stuff for the light-headed people who want the elusion of owning extremely rare items.

    Beware and take care !

    Jos.

      Jos,
even if I wanted such item, it is way out of my league!
But I was curious, since this dealer seems to be good rated here in the forums.

        ORIGINALS STILL CAN BE FOUND

Mr. Fernando Kotoulek The Grand Cross of the Iron Cross is a very rare item, but examples produced during the war are to be found. One such item is featured in Gordon Williamson's new book THE IRON CROSS OF 1939, page 447. It belongs to this light headed old man whose first cousin (not uncle as Gordon mistakenly wrote) brought it back and gave it to me a young lad of seven years. I have had it ever since. Many were produced for museums and Goring had an undetermined number. However, I would not pay a heavy premium unless it is fully documented.

Fernando--If you decide you want one for a filler for your collection, then buy it knowing that it is a fake. Don't assume or presume that the one you are getting is the real deal. Unless--you have the winning numbers to the lottery and have won it many times and can see into the future. There are way--more fakes of these awards--than any real ones that may have been or are presumed to be out there. Mike
