    Hi Tom

Sorry - I haven't really been keeping up to date with these paint analysis threads, so maybe you can tell me if anyone has had an analysis done on a good quality fake RK yet - or a 57 for that matter...?

    Cheers

Marc did. Here is the thread. Note the absence of bone black, or high Ca and P peaks in the paint. The RKs tested so far (K&Q, S&L (now type A), juncker 800, juncker 800, juncker lazy 2, as well as 3/4 ring) have bone black paint, although juncker lazy 2 is a slightly different type. The K&Q and S&L paint matched the EK2s and EK1 for that maker. There was no juncker EK1 available for me to test. Meybauer EK1 and godet imperial EK1 had unique paint, as did the rounder RK.
