Progressive die flaw in Round 3 EK2's

Neither rare nor alarming to find flaws in perfectly good wartime pieces, but worth noting that for a supposedly early war produced cross, that die SURE started to wear out in a hurry.

Remember, despite various reference book assertions, we are now of the opinion that there was more than one manufacturer of the R3 EK2, so if we are to beleive these ARE in fact early produced pieces, the odds are progressively shortened on one firms die failing very quickly.

Your comments as to the implications of this would be interesting to hear.

    Biro,

I have 4 of these crosses (all slightly different ) but all have the same frame-characteristics.

That's the reason I doubt that there was more then one maker for these crosses.

    Regards,
    Ben
