Field Conversion EK1's

I just bought this two field conversion (hopefully) EK1's. This is not a big investment and will not bring huge growth rate over time. But I thought them to be interesting because they are unique. One is even de-nazified.

Of course it cannot be prooven as to whether those were really made in the field or not. They certainly don't look that much 'worn'.

Pretty neat, Dietrich. Here's mine. Like with yours I have no way of knowing when the conversion was actually done. But it wasn't a budget buster in any case! (It appears to be a W&L.)

There's a slight trace of the small ribbon ring on the front side....

But the back side is very clean (and it doesn't look like it ever had a hump).

I dunno guys, I can't fathom how you could honestly expect a field made EK1 conversion to end up as clean as the examples shown. The recipient was certified and ostensibly had the work done. He wanted to wear the thing so badly that he wasn't willing to wait, but he suddenly got an EK1 in the nick of time and tucked the convo away...

IMO these conversions seem to be bulloney pieces. Sorry, but I'm used to seeing these pieces look like as though they've been in the field- not on a frigging showroom floor.

It looks like one of the crosses Dietrich have is a W&L as well (the other one have Souval frames).
