I'd say that it's a heavily flawed, unmarked Paul Meybauer EK 1.

I have a 7 Ek1 and a L/13 they have minor flaws. Also i have a 7 and a L/13 EK2, the 7 is uggly whit flaws. I dont think you can say they are early made those whit less flaws. I do think they are made whit a dirty tool, that they did not clean that often.

Ps i dont think KC ruels can add on other EK´s, wy KC´s are made in low nr´s. Ek´s in 100000 or more and remeber the tool made front and back on Ek2 and front on ek1!!.

        Mikael,

        I beg to differ.

First of all, the stamping process for EK1 (or EK2) frames is exactly the same as the process for RK's. So why would one think the outcome is different? I had hoped that my investigation into the flaw issue, backed up by pictures, made it clear that the flaws as we can see on stamped frames are NOT contamination or whatever other theory was brought forward.
I also can't see why front and rear on EK2 (which is the same with the RK) would make a difference with front only for an EK1.

But okay, I learned over the last month that no matter what evidence one might bring forward in a fairly scientific matter there are always some people that have a different opinion (backed-up or not, doesn't matter). And that is perfectly okay with me!

For me a cross with less flaws is earlier then a cross with more flaws. Contamination is a 'random' occurance and cannot repeat the same flaw pattern over a long period of time, i.e. come and go in the same shape or form.

        But again, thats just me.

From what i have seen on the Maybauers i have and has sold. The die flaws is not on the same place, thats wy i think the did not clean that tool so often. And a KC must have been made whit a diff set off tool´s, as they are not the same size. Once i did have a EK2 from him and that one did have more flaws than rim, it was so uggly i sold it quickly

I agree with you George, but look at the pic in post #16. Isn't that a 7 on the pin?

Well, he said it was just a blemish. But I've seen poorly marked "7s" on Meybauer EKs before, like this one on a cross that's also marked "L/13."

                George,
that is an excellent example of the double mark 7 and L/13 from Paul Meybauer.

                Very nice!

                  wow nice one!

                  also to add:
I had a totally crazy flawed '7' EK2, and have a totally unflawed '7' EK2... So anything's possible with these
                  regards

Doesn't look like a double mark to me, only an L/13 with a gouge through the centre.
                    George,
Is it in fact a double mark?

                      I'm pretty sure it's a "7." Here's another view.

And here's another "7" on another Meybauer EK 1.
