      Sure Peter-

I would not be so quick to shuck this one, as the hinges show a little bit more variablity in these early pieces than later pieces. I have a six rivet with which to compare, and there is some difference in the hinge. However, if one looks at the forum reference gallery, you can see some variability on these early pieces among the six and ten rivet pieces posted. The pin, is longer than all pieces posted. Again, I would examine this in closer detail.

Guys, this is a DKG with a small die flaw above the 9 in "1941". This is a fake. I've seen these being offered with 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 rivets out there. They've even gotten smarter and tried to remove the die flaw above the "9", but traces of it are still there. Beware of any DKG with this die flaw.

And the catch plate on Detlev's example is different from the one on these fakes.

Thank you Yuri for your imput. Can be very important if you can show a pic of it for comparision.

Never I was able to have one 8-10-14 rivets and all I have seen around in shows or from some collectors, were all fakes, so if Yuri can show a date from a sure fake with this flaw, can be an important point.

Well, we must be very carefull with this cross, because not many informations there are around multirivets types and in this example some points are fine and some with doubts.

IMO, date "1941" and wreath looks totally like Godet types, but in klnown examples , showed too in this site - section DKiG - early 6-8-10 rivets "1941" don't show Godet type, but for example in 10 rivets 1941 is the typical Deschler style. Maybe is the first type and then change or a very early Godet cross ??

Wreath can be the "thin" type and is very good looking.

Hinge can be different from the example showed before, we know there are few types, this hinge and pin it look good to me.

here is an example of 6 rivets "thin " wreath,

The DK article on the Wehrmacht Awards main page has excellent examples of multi-rivet DKGs. None of them have the die flaw over the 9. Also their pin is correct on the reverse.
