    Collectors' Guild

Hi everyone, I have been reading posts here for a while, but this is my first post here.

Recently, dm567 posted a question about a good source of Iron Crosses 1st Class, and one of the sites that you guys recommended was Collectors' Guild.
    http://www.germanmilitaria.com/

Can anyone tell me more about them, how reliable and reputable they are, etc.? They seem to have a good selection and their prices seem to be reasonable compared to other militaria sites.

I was thinking about buying an EK1 from them as well, so I would appreciate any pointers. Thank you!

Oh, and a big hello to Stogieman if he is reading this, I dealt with him on Ebay, he is a good man!!!

        Hi budulai

Welcome to the forum. I haven't contacted you before but I knew you are a frequently ebay bidder

For your question about the Collector's Guild, I purchased something from them, EKI and Wound Badge. All of the orders and transactions are smooth and good. They reply to your email quick and accurate. Especially on the photo that they provided, wonderful and showing all the things correctly without different.

        Cheers

            Hi,
I have purchased from The Collectors Guild and have had no problems. They seem to have a good reputation.

Thank you all for your help. Bryan and Peter, since you bought from them: how are their shipping prices?

Bryan, I assume you are on Ebay yourself quite often since you saw me there?

                    Hi budulai

.....since you bought from them: how are their shipping prices?
You really highlighted the point. Shipping prices is the only point that I feel not good to me. It is a little bit higher than I expected. Don't know the posting price in Canada. If someone can help us to have such information, I will surely to write the shipping charge is high or not.

Anyway shipping charge is only little cost to add on your medal. If you buy high-end stuff from him, the shipping cost will not be the concern.

                      Thanks, Bill. That's reassuring.

Bryan, I think your point is a good one, when you buy a high-end item, the cost of shipping is the least of your worries (unless the seller blatantly tries to rip you off with all those packing/handling charges.

Lets see here, a mint cased EK I marked 26 for $520, a L13 screwback for $190 and a cased L/11 for $345. Seems high to me. SOme of his prices are not bad but some are really high.

I agree with David. Their pricing for iron crosses is high. At least for now anyway

However, what may be worse is the EK2/envelope combo (Item H34948) with the ring stamped with '333'.

I checked out that ek2 now you mention it.And with the 333 being such a well known fake,it worries me that they would do such a detailed sales add on it and not know it is a repro.the other point is they surely know 333 wasnt a maker.

When i see this,I straight away add to the dont deal with list.
My point being that if this got through the net,and they do similar detailed adds, then what else do they advertise as real.It maybe just a mistake on their behalf, but its nots good enough.

Yes, that's a bit too obvious of a mistake to sneak through. Plus they suspiciously want only $70 for it - mint and with award bag.

                              Anyone else finds it odd?
