    EK 1 class

This is a pin from a first class EK that I picked up at a local auction this weekend. I paid a funny price for it. Less than 5 dollars, together with some things for my little girl.

But the question is. Where is the L ?? Is this a fake one. This pice didn't fit at all on this auction.

      Front

Here is the front. It is much brighter than on this scan.
      And not all that "yellow."

Is it just me or does the date look cocked?

          Cocked?

The date does look a little lop-sided.
Does anybody have a good Juncker EK 1 that we could see?

It may be me but my date looks a little slanted as well.

It looks to me that the numbers 12 are the same as well. I believe it was just a bad stamping.

                  Slanted

You are right. The numbers are a bit slanted. The hinge is the same as the one on rangers IC.

                    Dear Tor,

Check out my very recent thread in this forum about a L/54 EK1. In this thread I have posted a number of fakes that all use the same pin. One of them is stamped /12 (missing the L). If your pin looks anything like that (in the L/54 thread or below) and not like rangerĀ“s here in THIS thread, you have a problem.

Here is the pic again. FAKE /12:

                        The hinge and hook

Do you have a photo with the swastika? The hook on the one I got is not the same as on the one you posted. I'll try to make a scan of it when I get back home.

As I said I picked it up on a estate auction this weekend. I went there to try to buy one helmet and a KM dagger. But came across this one as well. Together with a necklace and earrings I only paid 40 NOK. Equivalent to 5 dollars/euros.

No, sorry, no swaz pics. I grabbed these scans from people who tried to sell these as originals on German auction websites.

To see more that one /12 would give me some real concerns Munich looks like your on to something here.

                              Here is the backside

As you might see. The stamping looks to have been done with the same tool. The only thing that differ is that the number is a bit higher on the pin on this one. Else are they quite the same. The scan is bad though.
