the 2 big things that im curious are the top of the pin and on the carton where it has lange is name the e is spaced away from the rest of the name and is a different font any other red flags

Cross looks good to me. Date, needle and catch (common style) match to an EK1 Wächtler & Lange. Depicted mm too.

The box is a genuine earlierish dome base (D&B maker for the box).



The carotn is also a genuie article, this was one of several generic outer cartons, and the makers name is of no consequence being a different style in this instance and paticular outer carton.



The case and outer carton prescribe, to earlier (Only made wise, not perhaps issue of course).....not very early, as you find the outer cartons on the very early examples unmarked maker wise......this is of course a limited theory of trial and error on what we/I know at this very moment in time. Please accept that notion.


But to summise in the carton and box scheme of things both are without a doubt in my honest opinion genuine.

The cross I'll leave to the experts ?

Well, it's at 760 or so right now, for a good looking cross, with case, and maker marked carton.

PLUS, how many people said "Way too expensive" when EK 2's started hitting $25.

Food for thought.
