2nd class spange - real or fake??

On the back of the spanges thread can someone please confirm whether this spange is real or fake. My gut feeling is a fake but I'm not sure. It's attached to an imperial medal bar which is genuine. I can't see any makers marks but I don't want to remove it incase I cause any damage. All comments welcome

      well, it's an L/16
cast? I can't quite tell from those pics, but from the front it doesn't seem like it (IMO)
there's a few L/16's floating around this forum, maybe we can get some measurements...
      regards

I'm not an expert but it looks ok to me. Don't remember seeing a fake like it.

I'm 99% sure it's authentic. It matches other L/16's perfectly
1% of doubt is your feeling that it is cast, and yes I suppose it could be an amazing cast!
Why I asked/hoped for other members with L/16 measurements is that if it's cast, as I'm sure you know, it would be smaller...

                      Thanks for the replies.

Jon, managed to get it off the medal bar. Only two prongs & no maker marks

                        what the?!
My 1% doubt is getting bigger, and I'm beginning to not like it, I've never seen one of these with a reverse like that. I don't know what to say sorry, this is as far as I go! I hope another member knows more...
                        regards

Here is another L/16 for comparison (although I do not know it's authenticity)

                              Definately not a good sign.
