Sorry for a stupid question. I only collect Soviet militaria and stumbled into this piece while traveling aboard and was wondering if it´s real and what´s it worth.

Any info would be appreciated. There is a mark on the ring (25)

Thanks George that was fast! Whats the verdict. Is this real in your opinion?? I compared it to the fake ek2 posted by Peter Wiking in the fake section. They look similar to me.

It looks like the dreaded "1 and 9" blob fake. Take a look at this thread and compare the blob between the 1 and the 9 in 1939 as well as the similar "3" in 1813 ....

Only difference being is the one in the link has rounded corners of the beading and not sharp like yours.

While walking one of the streets, we stumbled into this shop and knowing absolutely nothing about Iron Crosses we decided to photo it and ask.

The intention was for Dolf to buy it and re-sell it to buy more Soviet stuff...

Besides, I can spot a Soviet fake easily and this presented a chalange!
