opinion asked concerning these crosses

Hi all,

What do you think of these crosses.

The WMC 2e class is 0.5cm thick in the middle

The WMM has a ribbon without the white line and the ribbon is only 24mm in breadth.

Do all original WMC Ribbons have the white fraying around the red edges? All mine do and all of the originals I have seen do, This might be a a quick and easy way to determine orignal ribbon

Mine do ... maybe so for the War Merits anyway.

What do you think about the small ribbon for the WMM and the fact that it does not have the white line.

Thomas ... you mean the WMM you posted above? It does have this white line (or thread) on the outside of the ribbon. It's actually the white thread that goes back and forth horizontally with the vertically woven threads tied into it.

Sorry Darrell I am talking about a white line but I meant the red line that is normally in the middle of the ribbon.

Yes ... the ribbon for the WMM should have the thin red line going down the middle of the ribbon. I'm afraid the ribbon that doesnt, is a regular War Merit Cross style ribbon.

Left ribbon, breadth 24mm

The ribbon on the left could be ribbon normally used in the manufacture of ribbon bars. Hard to say where it came from.
