Welcome to the Forum!
Imo, the cross is probably (?almost certainly?) genuine. The frames exhibit good detail and nice patina but the core simply has poor detail - possibly a KO based on the design and lack of core detail.
Link or post in the Imperial Section for 1914 EKs if you want more response.
