    Curved Trapezoid Miniature Spanges...Any significance?

Does anyone know if the curvature to the date bars of these two new miniatures has the same significance as it does when seen on their full size '1st pattern' counterparts.. (e.g. Very early/Polish Campaign etc....) or are they merely styalised variants...?

    Thanks...

    Hi Marshall,

I can only talk for pins. Of all the stick pins over the years I've seen only one was with the curved sides. It is a very nicely done and high quality piece.
My assumption is that there is a parallelity to the 'big brother', i.e. the first pattern is reflected in the pins also and they are rare.

I would make the same assumption as Dietrich.

Notice that these minis share another characteristic of the full-sized curved-bar Spangen, namely the style of the eagles' heads!

Just the men for the job!!

        Two more observations..

Dietrich..... The top left EK1 mini is a pin, and the date bar is curved - moreso than the picture shows...It's reasonably well made without being spectacular...Can you clarify a little what you mean here?

        A better pic...

          George.....

It dosen't stop at the head on the 2nd class either!

The dates are identical in style, and the Talon arrangement is distinctive....

It's tough to clarify! It's the overall quality and crispness of the piece that is just a lot better then the later 'zincy' looking pins.
